Kiruru keeps what you tell it. This page says what is stored, who handles it, how long it stays, and how to take it with you or have it deleted.

What is stored

Your notes are stored verbatim: the text exactly as you send it, kept unmodified, together with the cleaned-up version Kiruru works from. The files you attach are stored too, and so is everything derived from your notes and files: analysis, summaries, tags, themes, connections between notes, embeddings, and insights.

Who processes it

  • The AI model provider — Ollama Cloud for text and image analysis, and a hosted Whisper-class speech-to-text service for recordings. Your text, images or audio are sent to it to be analysed.
  • The email provider — Postmark, which sends your sign-in links and Kiruru's replies to a note ("Saved."). Email you send to your capture address is taken in by a mailbox on Kiruru's own domain.
  • The hosting provider — DigitalOcean, which runs the servers Kiruru answers on.
  • The database provider — DigitalOcean's managed PostgreSQL, where your notes and everything derived from them live.
  • The file-storage provider — DigitalOcean Spaces, where the files you attach are kept. They are private: each one is served only to you, through Kiruru.

How long we keep it

Your notes and files are kept for as long as your account exists; there is no separate delete for a single note. Exports and the uploads of an import are kept for 7 days. Sign-in links and login codes expire: a sign-in link works once, within 10 minutes.

Export

Everything is exportable at any time, from Settings or from the API: your notes, their files and what Kiruru made of them.

Deletion

At launch, deletion is by request. You ask us to delete your account, and the account and everything in it is deleted: your notes, the files you attach, and everything derived from them. Backups keep a copy for 30 days after the deletion, and then expire.

What is not done
